About Sisters Network Central New Jersey Inc

Sisters Network of Central New Jersey® Inc. (SNCNJ) is a 501©3 organization and an affiliate chapter of Sisters Network® Inc a National African American Breast Cancer Survivorship Organization headquartered in Houston, TX.  SNCNJ was formed in January 2000 and serves as a critical resource for women battling the disease of breast cancer.  Because African American women have the highest breast cancer mortality rate of any race, the organization's mission is to alert communities, families, and the media to the devastation breast cancer causes in the African American community.  SNCNJ has provided years of breast health advocacy, education, and survivor-support to the Central New Jersey Community.

The SNCNJ founders, Dorothy J. Reed, Pearl Grace (deceased), LaReatha Payne, and Rosa Davis, with their collective experience with breast cancer surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy, provides a ground floor base of  knowledge and adds a personalized perspective of the breast cancer experience to the organization.  The SNCNJ staff provides daily hands-on services for the newly diagnosed, callers, visitors, and breast cancer survivors who contact the office.  Each inquiry, every caller and visitor, receives personal assistance and vital up-to-date educational information.

SNCNJ is continuing to offer many needed services for all age groups, including Breast Health Education and Awareness, Referral and Resource Information, and Breast Cancer Assistance Program (BCAP) for qualified women during chemotherapy and radiation therapy treatment.  Additionally, we offer targeted education programs such as "The Young But Not The Reckless," a program for teens and college students; the "Silver Foxes" program, designed for Seniors 62 years and over.  SNCNJ also offers Survivorship Monthly Meetings held on the 2nd Monday of each month at the Sisters House located at 1201 Hamilton Street, Somerset, NJ 08873.

We sponsor a number of major fundraising events throughout the year. If you are unable to attend an event, please consider making a donation. Click Here
